One of the best Twitter desktop apps currently available. Tweetdeck allows you to organise your friends and followers into groups, create and manage Twitter Lists, organise and update Facebook, manage replies, search results, direct messages and much more.

Twitterfeed

Very useful application you can use to automatically post entries from your blog to your Twitter account using a Tweet Feed.

TwitPic

TwitPic lets you share photos on Twitter. You can post pictures to TwitPic from your phone, the TwitPic home page or your Twitter account. If you have a Twitter account then you already have a Twitpic account, all you have to do is login to Twitpic with your Twitter username and password and you can start adding your photos straight away.

Twittersheep

TwitterSheep creates a visual representation of your Twitter followers as a ‘word cloud’ providing a quick overview of your followers interests.

Friend or Follow

Useful for finding out who isn’t following you back. This tool doesn’t require your password.

The projects will be funded by the European Regional Development Fund (£9,213,866), Welsh government (£4,451,939) and £3,740,781 from the private sector.

“Increasingly many people are going online to research, plan and book their holidays so we need to ensure tourism businesses in Wales are competitive in this area. There are many online resources we can develop that will benefit the industry as a whole.

“But this is not just about online marketing. It will also be about making the most of technology to run businesses more efficiently and ensure the industry is in a strong position to capitalise on new digital opportunities as they emerge. For example through online booking and reservation systems, databases, HR and finance systems.”

Many local towns in Wales have set up their own promotional resource, an example being the website we built for Rhayader 2000 two years ago. We offer clients online booking facilities, our content management systems provide up to date marketing and promotional features, and we provide additional promotion for our clients by featuring them on our online directories, such as Organic Wales. But we’re pleased to see the announcement of these new initiatives and hope that this will benefit local businesses. Certainly the tourism sector needs a boost after losing many of it’s Tourist Information Centres.

Cwm Irfon Lodge

Cwm Irfon Lodge offer accommodation in their beautiful holiday cottages located in the stunning countryside near Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys, Mid Wales. Their design includes an availability calendar, maintained by the client via a simple admin panel.

For most Google search queries, several images are displayed above the standard search results, and these will be linked to the website that they appear on.

Here are some tips to help improve your Google Image Search results and hopefully direct traffic to your website via Image Searches:

1. Use descriptive text in your image Alt attributes. For example:

2. Use similarly descriptive text in your image Title attributes:

3. Use keywords in your image file name, and separate words with a hyphen. As in the examples above, website-design.jpg

4. Google currently appears to favour images of larger size, and it’s good practice to include the image dimensions too, for example:

5. Text surrounding the image on your page also affects the position of your image in the Image Search results, and it also helps if you optimise the rest of the page with the image keywords you want to target, so for example you could also modify the page title and keywords in your metatags.
