Dublin Dash

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Dublin Dash at the end of October. Over £3000 was raised for Air Ambulance Wales by the 250 Girlguiding Cymru members who made the journey from all parts of Wales to Dublin.

On arrival, Elspeth Henderson, Chairperson of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) welcomed participants and said how much she was looking forward to meeting members and hearing about their experiences. CIGA
( Council of Irish Guiding Associations) greeted their Welsh counterparts at a Gala reception, where Guide promises were renewed in English , Irish and Welsh. Also attending were representatives of both Guiding organisations in Ireland; the Catholic Guides of Ireland and the Irish Girl Guides. The afternoon finished with a ceilih, clog dancing and Irish dancing. For those who attended the event or who would like a flavour of Ireland click here to read a Dublin Dash blog.
